I’ve always been a creative at heart and someone who loves to get stuck into new ideas and see what I can bring to life. After writing my book, A is for Amazing, I had to put down my pen and start really promoting it and getting it out there. How did I do this? With a little bit of creativity of course!
I started with something simple: A is for Amazing t-shirts designed to put eyes on my latest work. What happened next is something I could never have imagined…
My friends saw what I was able to create using my imagination and started making requests for their own t-shirts. I was truly blessed that they loved what I was making. When 23 of my high school mates and I took a reunion trip to Turkey, I made them some unique designs and saw the joy in their eyes. I was onto something!
Before I knew it, I was getting such a huge level of positivity and interest that the t-shirt side of things was getting bigger than my new book! What did this mean? I didn’t worry about it — I ran with it and started to get a clear vision of where all of this was going to take me.
Requests came in from near and far asking me to create new t-shirts and bring a wide array of eye-catching designs to life. I’m a physician by trade so I started creating t-shirts for nurses and anyone else in the healthcare industry. Then I turned my attention to moms, dads, graduates, and families. I was building momentum and didn’t want it to slow down.
I started thinking about how I could connect even more people with my unique designs and realized that holidays truly are a time for giving. Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas designs soon followed and my original idea to promote my book had turned into an exciting new business.
Each design I create is a personal piece of treasure that I have the honor of sharing with the rest of the world. Knowing that it could be a gift that makes a loved one smile or lifts their mood truly is the greatest feeling of all.
